Child Development

Bill Gates the founder of Microsoft once  said, “The first five years have so much to do with how the next eighty turn out”. All human beings go through the natural process of development that is both biological and psychological.

A preschooler between the age of three and six, enters school life after being in the protective environment of his home. This is the period of great emotional change as the child undergoes the turmoil of being separated from his mother, even though for a short duration of time.

At this age Child development can be measured by various parameters, the foremost being his social behaviour, that is, communication and interpersonal relationships with his school mates and teachers. A child’s sensitivity to his environment ,situations and people, predicts his personality and ascertains normal development. Observation of surroundings and is his reaction are a sign of curiosity in a child and his willingness to explore.

Children’s drive and dynamism can be manifested through their desire to be a part of ongoing activities and their ability to lead  even at their tender age. Lastly, the thinking pattern and memory play a vital role in shaping the personality of kindergarteners.

The fact that, child development is a natural progression of life, the prerequisites of having a safe, loving and caring home , where the child feels wanted and loved ,along with his nutritional needs being met, cannot be ignored.
